Introduction
Taming and pet handling are two of the most fascinating professions in Entropia Universe. You can tame pets by using a whip and once tamed you can train them to accomplish various tasks or acquire specific features. Pets can also give additional powers to their owners. The pet system brings a special dimension to the game and creates an additional level of interactivity for the players. |
With Version Update 17.3.0 a new pet known as 'Asclarias' has been introduced on Next Island/Ancient Greece. You first need to complete a quest to access the instance where Asclarias can be tamed. Speak to NPC Perik, who can be found near Orpheus' Cave Teleporter (on Ancient Greece side).
Asclarias is a level 43 creature, so it cannot be tamed by everyone. But it is easy to tame if you have a good whip (for example a Dominax Original Boiga) and a good level in taming. An interesting feature of this pet is the availabilty of 'Auto Loot' at level 19 (limited to a 5 meter range though).
The Toulan Stable has been updated
A nice surprise! With Planet Toulan Release 20.2, the Guardian Village Stable has been updated into a large building and it includes a shack and a booth. It is located near the lake [133990, 93132].

I am the owner of this Stable since the beginning and I must say I am very happy! I now manage the only shop on Planet Toulan and this Stable is probably the most extensive one in the whole Universe. Moreover, Toulan Master Tamer NPC Kenda has been moved to the Stable and has found a new home.
New pets on Next Island
With Entropia Universe Version Update 16.5, two new tamable robots have appeared on Next Island. Their birth was somehow chaotic but the situation has now stabilized and they survived the mess. See my blog post on C.A.R.A. and its taming. |
New Monria Pets
With Entropia Universe Version Update 15.15.7.3 and Monria VU 3.0 content, five new tamable creatures have been discovered on Monria. One of them, Yog Hatchling, can easily be found in the Hidden Crystal Cavern. Leprechaun Blue, Leprechaun White, Leprechaun Gold and Yog Horror are also found in the Hidden Crystal Cavern but they are rare. |
Classified Strongboxes
Classified Stongboxes can be bought directly from the Entropia Universe Webshop. They contain unknown treasures, including some pets that cannot be found otherwise. Cats, dogs and pandas are only available this way, each variety being offered with three different levels of rarity. In Classified Strongboxes you can also find Pet Name Tags that allow existing pets to be renamed and Artemic Rings that employ neuroconductive technology to improve affinity with tamable creatures. |
Passive Effects
Pets can unlock passive effects when they have reached a certain level and specific criteria are met. Each tamable creature type has a different set of unlockable abilities. Most pets possess the ability 'Skill Gain- Pet and Taming'. Corinthian Kanin possesses the ability 'Acceleration' instead, and this makes this pet quite interesting for this reason. Rare and unusual types have additional possibilities. To unlock a passive effect, the Unlock Status must reach 100%. For the ability 'Skill Gain - Pet and Taming', this is obtained by taming other creatures while your pet is summoned. |
Pet Center Management
The Pet Center Management terminal that can be found at each stable location proposes a selection of pet buffs. These buffs act in the same way as buffs provided by consumables, but there are only active if the pet is summoned and has reached the "Love" affection level (75% affection). Available pet buffs can differ from one stable to another as each stable owner can choose which buffs he wants to offer to his customers. The Pet Center Management terminal also proposes an Animal Essence extract utility, which is free of cost. This utility extracts Animal Essence from any chosen pet, and this results in 1 to 3 containers of essence with a possibility of a rare variant. In this process the pet is definitely destroyed, so be careful to only use unwanted pets for this purpose. |
Tamable Creatures
Pets belong to three different categories: 1) 'Ancient' pets are creatures that could be tamed in the old taming system before August 2009. They still exist as pets but cannot be tamed in the wild anymore. They are considered as 'Legendary'. 2) 'Classical' pets have been introduced from the second half of 2014. In terms of appearance, they completely fit in the current design of the game, and are often based on pre-existing creatures. 3) Pets recently introduced by Veyg Crenter and others are significantly different [...] |
Stables
Stables are present on the different planets of Entropia Universe. Large, old planets such as Planet Calypso can have as many as six different stables in different locations. Small, nascent planets such as Planet Toulan and Monria (often considered as a moon) have only one. Stables are currently places where you can find Pet Center Management terminals that offer a selection of pet buffs and an Animal Essence extract utility [...] |
